Daniel Melnechuk for US Representative from 7th Congressional District I am running for US Representative from Massachusetts' 7th Congressional District as a write in candidate. Previously, I have supported Rep. Markey by voting for him in the past. But after Rep. Markey voted to give President Bush the power to start a unilateral invasion of Iraq by the US, I had to have an option to vote for someone else for this office. Finding no one else, I have decided to provide that option to myself and others. War is not an answer. War is not a solution. War is terror. A unilateral invasion of Iraq by the US perpetuates the very thing which it seeks to end, terror. A unilateral invasion of Iraq will increase both global instability and the likelihood of terrorist attacks here and abroad. I am an active member of the Massachusetts Green Party. One of the 10 Key Values of the Green Party is non-violence. War is the violent attempt to resolve conflict. Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to resolve conflict without violence. The US should continue to work towards trying to make weapons inspections work in Iraq. If the US is going to be an international force of power, let it be towards non-violence. The US should join the International Court of Justice to show we are ready to work in the world under the rule of law, not violence! If you believe the US should not invade Iraq, please consider voting for me, Daniel Melnechuk, for US Representative from the 7th Congressional District. If you decide to vote for me, please ask at your voting station how to do a write in vote as there are 6 different types of voting systems in use today in Massachusetts. To write me in, you need to put my full name in all capitals, followed by my address as follows: DANIEL MELNECHUK 100 Hardy Pond Road, Waltham I would also ask you to consider voting for the 3 Green Party state wide candidates that will be on the November ballot, Jill Stein for Governor along with her Lt. Governor Anthony Lorenzen, and James O'Keefe for State Treasurer. As Green Party candidates, they all stand for non-violence.
