Oakes Plimpton has helped distribute tons of organically grown produce to meal programs, food pantries and shelters.
This farm grows organic vegetables for meal programs, food pantries and shelters while giving adults and children farming experience. It also has a "Children's Learning Garden" where camp groups come during the summer months to learn about where their food comes from and to plant, weed and harvest the garden. Volunteer opportunities: planting, cultivating and harvesting produce; usually you can take home some veggies for your efforts. To support the farm there's also a Community Supported Agriculture program where you can invest in the farm in return for regular delivery of produce to various sites including the farm. Sunday is the usual volunteer day; call if you can come on a weekday. Look forward to seeing you out at the farm!
